Forever begin, written in early 2020, is an optimistic fanfare for new beginnings, taking its title from the iconic poem Begin by Brendan Kennelly:
‘Though we live in a world that dreams of ending
that always seems about to give in
something that will not acknowledge conclusion
insists that we forever begin.’
Ligeti Quartet performed the premiere of Triptych for string quartet and orchestra at New Music Dublin just before Covid lockdowns began in 2020.
